Paul Holland was born May 15, 1953, and died of natural causes Nov. 6, 2017.
A gathering for family and friends will be Friday, Nov. 17, from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Kirkwood Room, 515 Kirkwood Ave., Iowa City. Family committal services are planned for
a later date.
In infancy, Paul had polio, which changed the course of his life. Paul grew up in Ottumwa, Iowa, but lived in Iowa City most of his adult life. He worked as a technician for the University of Iowa Physics Department for several years and then for MidWestOne Bank in Iowa City until he retired in 2015.
Because of the benefits and help to Paul in his early years, the family asks memorials be sent to March of Dimes, 425 Second St. SE, Suite 605, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401, Attention: Chloe Howe.
Paul is survived by his sisters, Kaye Holland of Davenport and Peg (Lyle) Watts of Cedar Rapids; his brother, Joe of Iowa City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Catherine Holland.
