Nancy "Maxine" Ford, 90, passed away Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at Kingston Residence in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Born in Rowley, Iowa, Maxine was the daughter of the late John and Annabelle Bishop. Maxine graduated from Rowley High School in Iowa and earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Iowa and her master's degree from St. Francis University. She was a second- and third-grade school teacher with Washington Center Elementary for 22 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of North Highlands Presbyterian Church. Maxine volunteered at Parkview for more than 35 years. She enjoyed weaving baskets and collecting bells.
Surviving are her children, Alan Ford of Westfield, Ind., and Roxanne E. Smith of Aurora, Colo.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, David W. Ford; and siblings, Harold Bishop, Grace Bishop Arnold, Mildred Bishop, Margaret Helen Bishop Lewis, Dorothy Bishop and Edna Marian Melick.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
