Jerry Krueger, 81, of Monticello, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at his home with his family by his side.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at First Presbyterian Church, Monticello, with interment in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call after 12:30 p.m. Monday at the church. Pastor Emory Gillespie will officiate at the service.

Surviving are his wife, Jean; three sons, David (Tammy), of Elizabeth City, N.C., Jody (Patty) of Iowa City and Randy of Monticello; four grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Lucille McCafferty and Joyce Jurgensen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law.
Jerry was born in Tripoli, Iowa, on April 16, 1935, to Dexter (Doc) and Verna Milroy Krueger. He graduated from Hopkinton High School in 1953. He married his wife of 62 years, Jean Clark, on Aug. 8, 1954.
Jerry owned and operated fertilizer plants in Hopkinton and Central City for 30 years. In retirement he worked for Naylor Seed Co. and Yeoman & Company. His customer contacts meant the world to him.
Jerry was a member of the Cedar Rapids Corvette Club. He often spent his free time driving through car dealerships talking to the sales personnel.
