Jerome W. Bullis
Jerome W. Bullis, 80, of DeLand, Fla., and formerly of Marion, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018.
Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, Lankford Funeral Home Chapel, DeLand, Fla. Graveside service: Glenwood Cemetery after the funeral service. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, Lankford Funeral Home.
Jerome is survived by his spouse, Sharon (Chic) Bullis; children, Julie (Jeff) Ressler of Eaton, Ohio, Jeff (Mary) Bullis of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Joan (Hiromitsu) Endo of Burlingame, Calif.; brothers, Tom (Sue) Bullis of Marion, Iowa, and Bob (Cathie) Bullis of Davis, Calif.; sisters, Betty Shearer and Ann (Jim) Jordan of DeLand; and son-in-law, Phillip Nolan of DeLand.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeanne Bullis.
Jerry was born Feb. 21, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to parents Chester and Elizabeth Bullis. He graduated from Marion High School in 1956 and Iowa State University in 1962 with a B.A. in dairy management. He married Sharon Berlin, his high school sweetheart, in 1957. His career evolved from plant management to plant manager of locations in Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin and North Dakota. They eventually settled in DeLand, Fla., where he began Grand Products International. He retired in 2006, and continued his passion of remodeling houses.
Jerome died peacefully at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was much beloved by all those who knew him. Quick to say hello to anyone he met, he always was surrounded by a large group of friends and family. He was an avid fan of Stetson University athletics and loved attending the baseball games. His kind, loving spirit will carry on with all those who knew him.
