Gonzalo Monfero Bodeta went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, in Jamaica, N.Y. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Sonny Vitaliz will officiate at the service. Interment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery after the service.
Gonzalo was born May 3, 1936, in the Philippines. He was the son of the late Basilio Bodeta and Anaceta Monfero.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Ruth Bodeta; children, Grace (Sonny) Vitaliz of Virginia Beach, Va., Arnel (Erlyn) Bodeta of Woodhaven, N.Y., Genice (Gilbert) Jaramillo of Sydney, Australia, Gail (Rick) Lindo of Robins, Eric (Aireen) Bodeta of Houston, Texas, and Gladys (Ian) Umali of Houston; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Gabriel Philip Jaramillo.
