Edith "Dottie" Morris, 75, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016, at Evergreen Estates in Cedar Rapids surrounded by her family. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, Robin (Jeff) Derlein, Dawn (Jerome) Dixon, Milton (Ramona) Taylor and Heather (Mitchell) Golden, all of Cedar Rapids; her late husband's children and grandchildren; two brothers, Byron (MarJoan) Rhodes and Rawlins (Carrol) Rhodes, both of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lyle; and stepson, Eddie.
Dottie was born June 26, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of LeRoy and Edith Fauchier Rhodes. She married Ronald Taylor in Cedar Rapids on March 4, 1961. They later were divorced. Dottie later married Lyle E. Morris on May 7, 1983, in Cedar Rapids. Lyle passed away in 2003.
Dottie worked at Collins Community Credit Union for several years. She enjoyed playing bingo and traveling, She was an avid coin collector. Her greatest joy, however, was the time spent with her beloved family and friends.
Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Evergreen Estates for the loving care given to Dottie.
