Dorothy Irene Crittenden was born Oct. 29, 1930, near Greenville, Tenn., to Horace and Freddie (Bible) Crittenden. She moved to Iowa in the early 1950s where her sister Mary was living. Dorothy married in Iowa and had three children. She was very creative, painting wildlife in her younger years, and hand-quilting or crocheting hundreds of pieces in her later years which she would often gift to friends and family.
Dorothy enjoyed nature and wildlife, especially watching the river at Palisades Park. She was a quiet soul, but above all, loved her family, friends and God.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and four sisters.
