Donna Mae Henning, 81, of Hartwick, passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2016. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Brooklyn, with Father Corey Close officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Brooklyn. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn.
A memorial fund has been established.
Donna is survived by her two children, Linda (Leslie) Ollinger of Grinnell and Donald (Beth) Henning of Chelsea; five grandchildren, Issac (Alanna) Ollinger, Kathleen (Heston) Ollinger Clark, Nathanael (Stephanie) Ackerman, Jeannette (Jaremy) Douglas and Edmond Henning; seven great-grandchildren, Estella Ollinger, Amelia Ollinger, Naomi Clark, Philip Ackerman, Jacob Ackerman, Izabella Douglas and Jaxson Douglas; a brother, Wallace DePauw; and a sister-in-law, Mary DePauw.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; a granddaughter, Erin Ollinger; a
great-granddaughter, Faith Douglas; and three brothers, Charles, Raymond and Marvin DePauw.
Donna Mae DePauw was born Dec. 19, 1934, in Brooklyn, the daughter of Edmond and Blanche Hendricks DePauw. After receiving her education, she married Robert Henning on Jan. 12, 1955, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Brooklyn. For their entire married life they farmed in the Hartwick area. After Bob's passing, she continued to farm alongside her son, Don.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Altar and Rosary. She enjoyed reading, cooking and baking and visiting
on the phone with friends and family. She loved attending the grandchildren's events and spending time with the family.
