Donald Marvin Lange, 86, of Lowden, died peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, at the Clarence Nursing Home with his wife by his side. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden with the Rev. Daniel Redhage officiating. Burial will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour before the service Saturday at the church.
Don was born Oct. 11, 1931, to Clyde and Margaret (Ortell) Lange, in Maquoketa, Iowa. He married Lottie Prince in Berwyn, Ill., on April 20, 1958. They had a son, Daniel, who was born June 11, 1960.
Don is most remembered for owning and operating the Lowden Meat Market for 30 years. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Lowden Fire Department and was president of the Lowden Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Lottie; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Lange; grandchildren, Matthew Lange and Patricia (Gary) Hadden; and great-grandchildren, Henry and Mary.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, son, three brothers and one sister.
