Diane Kay Spicer, 74, of Bloomington, Ind., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2016. A celebration of life will be held in Bloomington at a later date.
Survivors include a brother, Richard Spicer (Jeanne); and her sisters, Susan Spicer of Racine, Wis., Karen Thorpe (Robert) of Cedar Rapids and Linda Knudsen (Dan) of Bloomington, Ind. Also surviving are Nancy Behrndt (Craig) of Coppell, Texas, Steven Spicer (Deann) of Frisco, Texas, Lance Thorpe (Cherise) of Iowa City, Wendy Copley (Zach) of El Cerrito, Calif., Zack Knudsen of Bloomington and William Knudsen of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester H. Spicer and Ruby Spicer Becker.
Diane graduated from Jefferson High School and went to work for Bell Telephone Co. She moved to Florida, where she worked for United Telephone which later became Sprint. She retired from Sprint in 1994 when she moved to Bloomington, Ind.
Diane was an avid golfer and a member of the "Hole in One Club." She loved tennis and attended both the U.S. Open and Wimbledon tennis tournaments.
