Charles Junior Miller, 89,
a resident of the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, formerly of Coggon and Marion, died at the Veterans Home on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017. Graveside services: 2 p.m. Thursday at Coggon Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids, is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, June, of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Charley (Rebecca) and Jimmy (friend Molly), both of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Patsy Camp of Mount Vernon, Ill.; a sister, Barbara Clepper of Paragould, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Charley was born Feb. 6, 1928, in Leachville, Ark., the son of William and Eva Gibson Miller. He married Emma June Hendrix on June 12, 1948, in Leachville.
Charley worked at Wilson and Co. and later Farmstead for over 30 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Coggon, a Shriner and proudly served in the U.S. Navy. Charley enjoyed cooking, barbequing, hunting and fishing. He was a very outgoing person who always enjoyed a good joke and was a real storyteller.
Charley will forever be remembered for being a wonderful brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial fund has been established.
