Carol was born April 4, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Ralph E. and Mary (Krug) Wilson. She graduated from Benton Community High School in 1972, with high honors. She attended Kirkwood Community College. She graduated from the University of Iowa with two master's degrees. She served as regional manager of the Veterans Affairs Department for many years, a job which carried her to employment and residences in several states until she was transferred back to Iowa City. She held other jobs in Iowa City on the University campus, at Pearsons and Walmart, and as a hostess at the Sheraton Inn in Cedar Rapids and Ironman Inn in Iowa City until her health began to fail. Even partly disabled, she still remained active and volunteered at the Salvation Army soup kitchen.
Her warm infectious personality touched everyone she knew and her shockingly high intelligence level was apparent to everyone who knew her.
She will be greatly missed by family members and especially her brother and little dogs.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Wilson of Atkins; two brothers, Donald Wilson of Atkins/Shellsburg and Brian (Nancy) Wilson of West Chester; five nieces and nephews; five little dogs, Charley, Daisy, Penny, Sara Lee and Baby; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph, in 2002; her grandparents; and several little dogs.
