Betty K. Fox, 92, formerly of Belle Plaine, passed away Monday, Oct. 10, 2016, at the Oskaloosa Care Center. Services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Belle Plaine with Father Mike Mescher and Deacon Joe Behounek officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service in Belle Plaine. Betty Fox was born Feb. 3, 1924, to William and Iowa (Berkheimer) McGregor. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1942. Following high school, Betty taught at Tama country schools for four years. On June 17, 1955, Betty married Glenn Fox. To this union four children were born. Betty became a stay-at-home mother in Belle Plaine until going to work at Belle Plaine Community Schools for 14 years.
Betty was known for her volunteer work. She was a gardener and baker. She loved to crochet and say the rosary, but most of all she enjoyed spoiling the grandkids and great-grandkids. Betty was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughters, Darlene (Tom) McCune of Cedar Rapids and Connie (Dennis) Henle of Pella; nieces, Mary Ann Goldammer of Riverside, Nancy Davis of Cedar Rapids and Greta Pennell of Indianapolis, Ind.; nephew, Dwain Jordt of Iowa City; grandchildren, Glenda (Jeremy), Kimberly and DJ (Tori); great-grandchildren, Gillian, Gracyn and Jeryn; dear friends, Phyllis Cornelis and Betty Lou Lawrence; along with many more loving family and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn; sons, Glenn Jr. and Richard; brothers, Delbert, Edward and Lawrence; and sisters, Ruth, Mary, Gayle and Myrtle.
