Iowa Ideas Conference

Iowa Ideas will be a nonpartisan, state-wide learning experience designed to convene engaged citizens, community advocates and industry leaders who wish to explore issues through unique educational interactions.

It will include seven daylong symposia and a series of magazines, all leading up to an inaugural two-day conference in Cedar Rapids in September 2017.

This statewide gathering is designed to feature a mix of expert speakers, interactive conversations and thought-provoking experiences in order to help move complex issues forward.

The seven topics to be discussed are crucial to the future of Iowa: 

 

 

The seven symposia 

 

will be day-long, interactive discussions on key issues. Participants will hear from experts, practitioners and thought leaders, and will work together to come up with solutions. 

-- February 28: Cedar Rapids: K-12 education and regionalism & workforce

-- March 7: Iowa City: Health care and higher education

-- March 28: Cedar Falls: Agriculture and higher education

-- April 11: Sioux City: Agriculture and energy & environment

-- April 25-26: Des Moines: Regionalism & workforce, health care, transportation and K-12 education

-- May 9: Council Bluffs: Energy & environment and transportation

-- May 23: Davenport: Regionalism & workforce and transportation

The conference

will be a statewide gathering, bringing together hundreds of thought leaders and passionate citizens. A mix of panel discussions, one-on-one conversations and unique experiences will leave participants connected, informed, and energized.
