Bracket watch: Where will Iowa, ISU go?

  • Photo

Less than two weeks remain before Selection Sunday and bracket projections change for Iowa and Iowa State nearly by the hour.

The USA Today places Iowa as the eighth seed in Orlando, while sticking Iowa State as a three seed in San Antonio. ESPN maestro Joe Lunardi has a potential Iowa State (three) vs. Iowa (six) game in the third round (second game) in San Diego. He does list the Minnesota-Tennessee winner playing Iowa in the second round (Iowa's first game), but that goes against the new bracketing principles, which forbids teams that have played twice to face off before a regional semifinal.

Of course both organizations will change their projections 13 times over the next 13 days. While I'm not quite interested in doing that, I did want to see where the teams stack up entering the final week of conference play. So based on records, polls, RPI and other measurements, here's a look at the seeding and location of field approaching the NCAA tournament.
