Arc of East Central Iowa announces new board members

The Arc of East Central Iowa has named the following to its board of directors: Ashley Anthony (see photo), Social Security Administration; Melissa Cullum (see photo), Mercy Medical Center; Jody Donaldson (see photo), Kirkwood Community College; Elaine Duvall (see photo), Alliant Energy Transportation; Eric Johnson (see photo), Geonetric; and Jamie Meyers (see photo), Hibu.

Abram Tubbs, chairman and CEO of Ohnward Bank and Trust in Cascade, was elected to a three-year term as Class A director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.


Kate Moreland (see photo) will join the Iowa City Area Development Group in January as director of collaboration and community relations. She is currently with the Iowa City Community School District.

EXIT Hawk Realty, North Liberty, hired Mark Ebel (see photo) as an agent.

7G Distributing LLC hired Mason Lee (see photo), previously with Archstone Consulting in Chicago, as its vice president of operations. Also hired was Michele Raymer (see photo) as marketing manager.

Hall & Hall Engineers Inc. has hired Matt Johnson (see photo) as project manager. Brandon Coffman (see photo), a landscape architect, joined the landscape architecture team. CliftonLarsonAllen LLP hired Patricia Grundy (see photo) to lead the accounting services and advisory group in its Cedar Rapids office.

The Alzheimer’s Association of East Central Iowa has hired Melissa Pence (see photo) as its executive director and Angelica Vannatta as manager of Community Outreach.

Citizens State Bank, Monticello, hired Dean Cox Jr. (see photo), previously with F & M Bank, Anamosa, as its vice president.

The Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce has named Mackenzie DeRoo (see photo) as director of Member Services and Melissa McCarville (see photo) as vice president of Communications.


Hiawatha Bank & Trust promoted Kris Koeppen (see photo) from loan coordinator to vice president of Mortgage Lending.

Guaranty Bank & Trust, Cedar Rapids, has promoted Christopher Lindell (see photo) from president and chief operating officer to president and chief executive officer. Jason Rabe (see photo) was promoted from assistant vice president, branch officer, to vice president, retail lending.

Terry McDonald (see photo) of AW Welt Ambrisco Insurance, Iowa City, has been named president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Iowa.

Michelle Gnida (see photo), area manager of Dale Carnegie Training for Eastern Iowa, Cedar Rapids, received the Global Sales Award at the Dale Carnegie Training conference in Orlando, Fla.

Joe Sample (see photo) of American Building Components, Cedar Rapids, was awarded 2013 Regional Manager of the Year and Top Gun winner in the United States.

Associated Builders and Contractors of Iowa recognized Garling Construction Inc., Cedar Rapids, with the 2013 Award of Excellence in the General Construction-Industrial and Public Works/Environmental $2 million to $5 million category. The award was based on the company’s work on the Belle Plaine Downtown Rehabilitation Facade & Streetscape Improvements.

The Iowa Area Development Group honored LaBudde Group Inc., Manchester, with the 2013 Venture Award for the firm’s expansion and contribution to the Iowa economy.

The Green Building Certification Program, offered by Johnson County’s Planning and Zoning Department, was recognized with an Excellence in Action Award by the Iowa State Association of Counties.

Iowa-based Blue Compass Interactive was honored by the 2013 Web Health Awards for work on the UnityPoint Health brand, of which St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, is connected. The UnityPoint Health website, launched earlier this year, was presented with a Silver Award for best health website.
