Coe names Albinson interim VP for student affairs

Benefit Solutions Inc. hired Kristopher Hopkins (see photo) as an employee benefits consultant.

Shoemaker & Haaland Professional Engineers hired Ryan Wright (see photo) as a civil engineer. He previously was with Ament Design.

Barry Frink (see photo) started as manager of Iowa Realty’s Marion office.

Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, hired Samuel Wood (see photo) as medical oncologist-hematologist at Oncology Associates in the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center.

Mark McGowan (see photo), previously with Cargill Vitamin E, is now quality assurance analyst with Diamond V. Amy Voss (see photo), formerly with Hibu, started as human resources and benefits coordinator.

Knutson Construction hired Justin Holthaus (see photo), previously with Invision Architecture in Waterloo, as a project engineer in its Iowa City office.

Christopher B. Rhynerson (see photo), previously at Upper Iowa University, is now vice president for finance and business services at Mount Mercy University.

GreatAmerica Financial Services hired Brian Flynn (see photo), previously with TCI Business Capital, as director of operations.

Meghan Cooley (see photo), who had been with University of Iowa Children’s Hospital in Iowa City, is now a nurse practitioner at MercyCare North Liberty for MercyCare Community Physicians.

The city of Marion hired Amy Foster (see photo), formerly with Coralville, as stormwater coordinator for the engineering department. Tony Ireland (see photo), who had been at North Liberty, was hired as recreation supervisor for the parks and recreation department.

Tony Vislisel, formerly with Cargill Corn Milling, was hired as equipment operator for the public services department, and Trudy Stenersen, previously with the Linn-Mar School District, was hired as administrative assistant for the parks and recreation department.


Coe College promoted Erik Albinson (see photo), previously assistant dean of students, to interim vice president for student affairs.

Knutson Construction promoted Jim Wagner (see photo) to superintendent and Darin Foreman (see photo) to senior project manager, both in the company’s Iowa City office.

AW Welt Ambrisco Insurance Inc. moved up Eric Upchurch (see photo) from senior employee benefits specialist to assistant vice president of financial services.

Nate Collins (see photo), previously a production designer, moved up to to designer at Stamats. The company also promoted Kelsey Huebner (see photo), previously a front-end Web developer, to Web developer.

Frew Development Group promoted Christopher Hutchins and Nathan Pilcher, both formerly assistant project managers, to project managers, and Brock Gladwin, formerly assistant project engineer, to project engineer in the company’s Cedar Rapids office.

Doug Griesenauer (see photo) was promoted by United Way of East Central Iowa to senior manager of education.


The Williamsburg Public Library, designed by OPN Architects of Cedar Rapids, will be presented its gold LEED certification in an Aug. 12 ceremony at the library.


Connie Alt (see photo), senior vice president; Steve Pace (see photo), attorney and senior vice president; and Samuel Jones (see photo), associate attorney, all with Shuttleworth & Ingersoll Attorneys At Law, were presented certificates by the Iowa Legal Aid and the Iowa Court of Appeals for providing more than 50 hours of pro bono work in 2012. Jones also was selected to the Leadership for Five Seasons Program Class of 2014.

Jon C. Bancks (see photo), Morgan Stanley in Cedar Rapids, earned the Certified Private Wealth Advisor designation from the Investment Management Consultants Association.

Cedar Ridge Vineyards, Swisher, received 22 medals and five label awards from the Mid-Amerian Wine Competition, including a gold for Reserve Red. It received the most awards at the event for the third consecutive year.

Hy-Vee was voted among top grocery chains in the United States and a customer favorite in the Midwest according to Market Force Information.
