100 new positions being added at Geico's Coralville call center
Employment has more than doubled since facility opened
Auto insurer Geico plans to add 100 employees by July at its Coralville office, filling an assortment of positions in sales and customer service.
Geico will host a careers open house from 5 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, at its office, 2213 Second St.
Geicoís Coralville call center opened in 1997 with plans to employ about 200. That number as doubled to almost 400 employees.
Job seekers are encouraged to apply online at Geico Careers prior to the open house. Candidates are required to have a bachelorís degree in business, or significant business coursework, as well as an overall grade point average of 3.2 or higher, said Lona Montgomery, Geicoís Coralville director.
Geico (Government Employees Insurance Co.) is owned by Omaha-based Berkshire Hathaway.
