The executive director of a nonprofit organization that helps disabled people lost his job after he let a volunteer use his work cellphone and office so she could take lurid photos of her and her boyfriend.
The Des Moines Register reported Wednesday that 44-year-old Scott Gill acknowledged the incidents when he testified at his unemployment benefits hearing. His application for benefits was denied.
Gill was ousted in October from his job leading Access 2 Independence of the Eastern Iowa Corridor, a publicly funded, nonprofit advocacy organization in Iowa City.
Gill acknowledged at his benefits hearing that he'd sent or received more than 11,000 personal text messages and up to 800 photos on his work phone in just one month.Gill has not responded to calls and emails seeking comment.
