Eastern Iowa authorities are looking for a man they believe stole two vehicles in the area.
Around 6 p.m. Monday, a Cascade police officer identified a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Dustin Wilson that had been reported stolen from a location in Delaware County. Officials said Wilson pulled into a driveway of a residence in the 200 block of Harrison St. SE in Cascade and took off on foot. Cascade Police Chief Fred Heim said around 20 to 25 officers from six or seven departments were searching for Wilson last night, but were unable to locate him.
It is not known if Wilson is armed, but he is known for having a violent nature, Heim said.
Police took a 28-year-old woman, who was passenger in the stolen pickup, into custody, but she was later transported to Jones Regional Medical Center for unknown reasons, authorities said.
Heim said he believes Wilson may have stolen another vehicle shortly after 7 a.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of Third Ave. SE.
“We strongly believe Wilson is our current suspect for the vehicle because of the relationship where the original vehicle was taken and the time frame,” Heim said.
Authorities are currently looking for a 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer that is dark gray or black in color with Iowa license plate 206 XXC. Wilson is described as a white man, around six feet tall and 160 to 170 pounds, with brown hair and possibly blue eyes.Anyone that sees Wilson, or has more information, is asked not to approach him and to contact local law enforcement.
