Marion's Christmas in the Park this Friday, Dec. 7

The 20th Annual Christmas in the Park celebration, produced by the Marion Chamber of Commerce, will officially kick off the holiday season this Friday, December 7 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in City Square Park, Uptown Marion.

This year’s event will feature the traditional activities including the lighting of the community peace tree, live holiday music, horse-drawn carriage rides around City Square Park, hot cocoa and popcorn and activities at the Marion Public Library. Most importantly, Christmas in the Park will welcome the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus along with their special reindeer. In addition to the activities happening in the Park, Uptown Marion will also host a shopping event called the Peppermint Walk. A nice compliment to the Chocolate Walk held in the fall, the Peppermint Walk will feature over twenty five participating Uptown Marion businesses.

Christmas in the Park and Peppermint Walk is a free community event thanks to our Marion Chamber Platinum Community Partners – Farmers State Bank, Fosters Heating and Air Conditioning, Philip’s Diamond Shop & Design Center and St. Luke’s Hospital along with media partner Cumulus Media (104-5 KDAT, 98.1 KHAK, 94.1 KRNA and i107.1).
