Volunteers needed for 9/11 service projects
The September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance was created to provide a positive way to forever remember and pay tribute to the 9/11 victims, honor those that rose in service in response to the attacks, and to remind people of the importance of working more closely together in peace to improve our world, and just as importantly our great state of Iowa.
United Way of East Central Iowa is teaming up with 5 local agencies to offer projects for local volunteers to serve on this National Day of Service.
Area Substance Abuse Council needs 10 volunteers to clean up a wooded area, 6 for a mulching project, and 6 for furniture disposal.
Mission of Hope needs 3 volunteers to build shelves and 2 more to do pantry shelf repairs.
The Arc of East Central Iowa needs 5 volunteers to help clean up two rooms at one of their daycares.
Big Brothers Big Sisters needs 4 volunteers to organize office filing cabinets.
Marion Cares needs volunteers to help organize apartments for after school programs.Sign up here: http://volunteer.truist.com/united-way-of-east-central-iowa/user/events/one.tcl?event_id=10537326018
